Description
You’ll probably know by now that we like to push boundaries with our releases. Trying to match (or improve on) the last one is never easy, but it doesn’t stop us trying. For the most part, everything we release is manufactured in-house, and we’re very fortunate to have the means to do that properly. We’ve always preferred to be self-sufficient. When people support what we do, we want them to receive something tangible, personal, and properly finished in return.
With this upcoming album, we want to move away from the usual vinyl-on-demand model. It’s great for singles and EPs, but for this release we want to push the boat out, which also means the production costs are significantly higher, but we’re also not keen on exploring the idea of a fundraising platform as you’d have nothing to show for it. So, we’re releasing what we’re calling the Foundry Edition as a pre-order.
This is a hand-curated, strictly limited artefact tied to the upcoming album. Everything is made, finished, numbered, and personalised by us, in-house, in the same way we approach all our physical releases – professionally and meticulously.
Only five will be made.
Each Foundry Edition contains almost £600 worth of items at normal retail prices, but is priced at £250. This isn’t about maximising return or covering everything in one go, it’s about helping offset some of the production costs while giving something meaningful back to the people who make releases like this possible. The Foundry Edition allows us to produce the vinyl and CDs to the highest standard we believe in, including near-audiophile vinyl (180gsm multi-coloured marble, heavy full-colour inner sleeve, matt varnished outer sleeve, plus vinyl-exclusive physical inserts). This isn’t some cheap mass-market product, and it won’t be for everyone. But for those who choose to be part of it, we want it to feel considered, personal, and genuinely worth owning… a physical artefact marking the first album recorded under the Pyroclast name.
